Bocote Arming Sword w/ Fuller & Sheath

This single hand Arming Sword has a 31 inch blade. The overall length is 38 inches and it weighs 3 lbs, 4.8 oz. The blade is 1.75 inches wide, tapering to 1 inch at two inches from the point. This blade also features a 25.5 inch long, 0.5 inch wide fuller starting at the guard and running down the blade. The 7 inch wide guard and 2 inch diameter disc pommel are brass. The handle is Bocote. The point of balance is 3.5 inches in front of the guard. This blade also has a beautiful custom sheath created by my wife, Trena. The weight of the sword in the sheath is 4 lbs, 2.2 oz.

Color/Appearance: Has a yellowish brown body with dramatic dark brown to almost black stripes. Color tends to darken with age. Also, the grain patterning can be quite striking, particularly on flatsawn areas. It’s not uncommon to see many “eyes” and other figuring in Bocote: though unlike knots, they do not seem to present any special challenges in machining.
