Our swords are made from 5160 High Carbon Spring Steel. We do our own heat treating and tempering. Swords are tempered to 52 degrees on the C scale. They are first forged to shape and then ground to final size and shape. For the handles, we use natural hardwoods from all over the world, never using any stains or dyes.
By default, our swords are not sharpened. However, we offer free sharpening to customers - select the "Sharpened" option when adding to cart. Expect your order to take a couple extra days if you select the sharpened option.
African Padauk Thrusting Sword w/ Fuller & Sheath
This single hand Thrusting Sword has a 32 inch blade. The overall length is 38.25 inches and it weighs 3 lbs, 2.6 oz. The blade is 2 inches wide, tapering to 0.6 inch at two inches from the point. This blade also features a 23 inch long, 0.5 inch wide tapered fuller starting at the guard and running down the blade. The 8 inch wide guard and 2 inch wide hex pommel are 1018 steel. The handle is African Padauk. The point of balance is 3.5 inches in front of the guard. This blade also has a beautiful custom sheath created by my wife, Trena. The weight of the sword in the sheath is 3 lbs, 15.4 oz.
