Blacksmith knives are made of 1084 high carbon spring steel. They are heat-treated and tempered. These make a great everyday knife, camp knife, etc. I have two or three lying around the shop that I use as all-purpose tool knives. Each one is individually made - no two are quite the same. I usually start off each day by making one or two of these knives.

Blacksmith Knife
The blade length is 5.5 to 6 inches typically and the overall length is 9 to 9.5 inches. The blade width is 1.25 inches wide and weighs 6 to 9 oz. on average.
